Discover Dwight
Dwight is a popular tourist and cottager destination at the very north end of Lake of Bays. This quaint village was established in 1875 by settler Edmund James Gouldie. Dwight is surrounded by Muskoka’s rugged and raw landscape with close proximity to Ontario’s famous Algonquin Provincial Park (20k).
Each season presents a new reason to discover, explore and love Dwight! In summer you can enjoy maintained hiking/biking trails, nearby world-class golf courses and the sparkling and vast Lake of Bays with Dwight Beach. Our beach is one of the most beautiful sandy shorelines in all of Muskoka and the only public beach along Lake of Bays’ 170km shoreline. Fall brings a spectacular burst of colour as the leaves change hue and Oxtongue Rapids draws both artists and photographers to capture its beauty.
Winter is a glistening, snowy paradise for snowshoeing, skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing. Mark your calendar for Dwight Winter Carnival on Family Day weekend in February. It kicks off with the Lions Club pancake breakfast and the day is loaded with children’s activities, the opportunity to try out winter sports and snowmobile time trials on the lake.
Dwight has wonderful resorts, motels and bed and breakfasts to use as a home base while you enjoy our many attractions. You will also find fine dining and casual eateries, bakeries, marinas, shops, galleries and so much more…
